About Joy in Progress
I’m not chasing perfection. I’m learning how to feel good in my own life.
Hi, I’m Joy.
I’m a midlife woman figuring out health, weight loss, confidence, aging, and everything else that seems to come with this stage of life — usually with a little sarcasm thrown in.
My own wellness journey has included losing a significant amount of weight, using a GLP-1 medication, learning how important movement and strength really are, changing the way I think about food, and realizing that health is about so much more than the number on the scale.
But this isn’t a “do everything perfectly” kind of place.
I’ve spent enough years thinking I needed the perfect diet, the perfect routine, the perfect body, or the perfect plan.
I don’t.
And neither do you.
What you’ll find here
I share the things I’m learning along the way — including:
- GLP-1 and weight-loss experiences
- Simple midlife wellness habits
- Movement, strength, protein, sleep and self-care
- The emotional side of changing your body
- Products and Amazon finds I genuinely use and enjoy
- And plenty of real-life humor, because sometimes you just have to laugh
I’m interested in what actually helps us feel better, not in turning wellness into another full-time job.
Sometimes the answer is eating more protein.
Sometimes it’s going for a walk.
Sometimes it’s getting more sleep.
Sometimes it’s asking for help, using medication, changing course, or finally realizing that what worked for someone else may not be what your body needs.
This is the work in progress
I’m still learning. I’m still changing. I’m still figuring things out.
That’s kind of the point.
Progress is the goal. Perfection never was.
Welcome to Joy in Progress. 💗
